My boyfriend is a racist?

Before I start off let me say, both he and I are from The Bronx NY, but we grew up in 2 different worlds, and He is Irish Catholic American and grew up around mostly other Irish, Italians, Albanians, Jews, Polish, Germans, Greeks, Russians(ALL ETHNIC WHITES).... I know people and I am very street-smart, I grew up in the South Bronx around Hispanics and Blacks(I'm Dominican which is Latino) and he is a pretty big guy (6'0 - 190lbs but pretty built), he had natural tan skin, dark brown hair and ice blue eyes(he was good looking and decent personality with me at least).and in our building its racially diverse(first time in his life, he lived in a racially mixed building), It all started when him and I were walking outside and a Black man didn't hold the door for me and my EX said pretty loudly "f--king n-ggah can't hold the door for ya",, then I heard him on the phone with one of his pals from his old neighborhood saying "all these sp1cs and n1ggas around here" and whenever he walks by a Black or Hispanic, he always gives them looks or does a smirk, then he does that "Ethnic New Yorker walk"(you have to be from NY to understand), and he walks by acting like a tough guy hoodlum and he puts his arm around me and says "eyy babe where you wanna go tonight", I knew he was doing it to get the guys around him mad, so I threw him off me and told him we were breaking up... He made all these posts on facebook saying he wants me back, but i deleted him and blocked him. I mean he was a really good looking guy and he treated me well, but I cant handle his comments,,, was i right?
