Why do people wear clothing with Che Guevara?

Some probably don't even know who he is. Maybe they see it as some chic, flashy fashion statement. In most cases they do it to get attention. What person in their right mind would wear a shirt supporting a leftist revolutionary pothead anyway? Wait a minute...I think the democrat party may have a banner with his face on it this year at their convention!
